The poem reflects the nuances of winter-time in the village and the first signs of more severe winters, brought on by climate change.

It will be featured in his forthcoming first collection of poetry which will be published by Ireland's biggest poetry publisher, Salmon Publishing, who celebrate their 30th anniversary this year.

Aughrim Business Association Update

The Aughrim Business Association was formed in February, 2009 by a group of concerned business people interested in raising the profile of Aughrim as a place to do business. Long recognised as a place of great beauty, Aughrim also has a thriving business community and one of the stated objectives of the Association is to promote the services available in the town.

Since its inception, the Association has gone from strength to strength and it now has members comprising businesses ranging from Artists to Waste Disposal – not quite A-Z but close enough!

The Association holds regular meetings and anyone with a business in Aughrim or its environs is welcome to attend. Apart from dealing with the various projects undertaken by the Association, the meetings are addressed by invited guests who speak on a wide range of topics.
